9-30-23: Only a Few Days to Go!

We’re getting closer to the day we have ALL been looking forward to! CAST REMOVAL! I’m really trying to maintain my excitement and think positive thoughts, but the anxiety is also creeping in. This past week, I started to realize what this appointment could really mean. Since they didn’t inject the dye and look at her hip at the 6-week mark, that means they don’t know if everything has progressed accordingly. It could mean that we just did 12 weeks for nothing, and DD (Dear Daughter) needs an open reduction surgery and 6 more weeks in a cast. The thought of this is agonizing. I’ve been struggling to sleep at night because of this. I can tell our daughter is more than ready to be out of this cast and starting to get bored in it. I just want her to physically be free and live a normal life. I guess we’ll find out soon.
