We were given the option to see an Orthopedic Psychologist following the diagnosis. Frankly, I had no idea that there was a job solely focusing on the psychology of orthopedic issues! Being pro-therapy and open to anything that might contribute to my family’s emotional well-being and mental health, especially during a challenging time like this, I was eager to pursue this option, and my husband agreed.
Upon arrival, we underwent a sort of "test" related to our daughter’s personality. The psychologist confirmed what we already knew, but hearing it from a professional has further highlighted this. Our daughter is a people person. The psychologist provided valuable insights on how to maintain our daughter’s happiness, based on her personality, while she is in a Spica Cast. Given that DD (Dear Daughter) thrives on seeing, playing, and meeting new people, the doctor suggested we foster this and fill her social calendar. Challenge accepted!
