When she awoke for the day, she was quite happy and content, but she was getting hungry. I had to wait about 30 minutes before I could order her breakfast, but I came with her favorite snacks to tide her over: bananas and yogurt bites. In the meantime, a whole team of young doctors came in to check on DD (Dear Daughter). Then we finally got our breakfast, and there were more nurse checks, but we were told we could go home soon! My husband sent our son to school and headed back to the hospital. DD’s orthopedic surgeon came to the hospital on his vacation day off to check on DD and at least one other patient. I asked a few questions, and my husband showed up just in time to see the doctor and ask any questions. Then my husband put the car seat in the car, we got situated, and we headed home to begin our next stretch of Spica life.
One day down, six weeks to go…
