I picked up DD (Dear Daughter) from daycare today, and they mentioned she had a tough day, crying a lot when they sat her down on the floor. They felt she seemed to be in pain. She came home, and she was mostly the same way. Additionally, she wouldn’t put weight on her left leg. I wonder if maybe she’s been using her muscles so much and if they’re just sore? I wouldn’t be so surprised by this if it had happened right after the cast came off, but instead, it’s occurring just over a week later. Because of this, I called and left a voicemail and I left a message on the online portal for the orthopedic doctor’s office.
I heard back, and they said this was a low level of concern, as muscle weakness and joint stiffness are common after prolonged immobilization, and DD (Dear Daughter) was rather quick with her movements. They suspect that she is experiencing some increased soreness due to her enhanced mobility after the immobilization. We are going to keep an eye on her this weekend and see how she’s doing while managing her pain with over-the-counter meds.
